The guide

What is actually costing you customers?

Nine things shop owners ask me, written down properly. Not a course and not a funnel — if you read one of these and fix it yourself, good. Find the sentence below that sounds like your shop.

“Nobody finds me at all.” The three places people look The map, the blue links and the AI answers are three different algorithms. Most owners think being on Google is one thing. “People find me. They just don’t call.” What a website is actually for Most shop sites are a brochure. A working one gives a price, takes a booking and answers at two in the morning. “They ring while I’m under a car.” What happens while you’re busy The 6:40pm call is the whole argument. What can honestly be automated in this trade, and what cannot. “My reviews are fine — aren’t they?” What your reviews are actually doing They are a ranking signal, a sales asset and a compliance risk at the same time. Most shops get the third one wrong. “I’m not putting my prices online.” Publish the price, or quote on the phone The most consequential decision on your website, and the one most shops make by default rather than on purpose. “They ask the price and disappear.” How people actually decide What is going on between the first message and the booking, and where in that gap you are losing them. “I want more work, faster.” What makes an ad worth running The arithmetic before the artwork. If the numbers do not work, no creative saves it. “My photos don’t look like the good shops’.” Photographing your own work You sell on before-and-afters. Six things that separate a gallery that sells from one that just exists. “I don’t know which of these is me.” How to tell what’s actually broken Start here if none of the above jumped out. Everything above is a fix; this is the diagnosis, and doing them in the wrong order is how shops waste a year.

I would rather you fixed something yourself off one of these than paid me for the wrong thing. If you get to the end of one and would rather it just happened, that is what I do — but the reading is free either way.
